except classes that specify "drop in".

  • Please use street parking for all classes and groups. Heller's donates the space, so in appreciation, we ask the front lot be used for store customers only. Thank you for your understanding. Receive a 10% discount at Heller's on the day you attend any group or class!

Ongoing Classes / Series

Little Music Circle 

    A unique experience; with bubbles, instruments and live music!

    Tuesdays      10:15 - 10:45 for Toddlers 1 - 2 years  [crawlers and walkers]

    Wednesdays 10:15 - 10:45 for Toddlers 1 - 2 years  [crawlers and walkers]

                         11:30 - 12:00 for Babies up to 1 [pre- or just crawling]

                          3pm - 3:45   for Little Ones 2 - 3 1/2 years

                         Parents can decide which class is right for their little one.

    Fee: $10 drop in or $35 for a series of four

           

            Class includes:

      • Learning songs and clapping rhythms with baby
      • Introducing manipulating and playing with small instruments to connect to sounds/effects
      • Helping baby develop distinct modes of learning through music
      • Helping baby develop intelligence in specific learning centers of the brain
      • Movement and theory through song, in a  program that will grow with your child
      • Having fun with moms in a group setting and sharing songs with your little one for years to come!
       

Parent participation is a vital component, but don't worry: you don't need to know how to sing to enjoy our Little Music Circle.  Class size is limited, so registration is recommended. make missed classes without charge.

Gentle Mama-Baby Yoga - no class Tuesday, August 24

Tuesdays, 1:30pm

Instructor: Danielle Hougard

Series Fee: $50 for 4 classes  (to be used within 2 months) Drop-in: $15

This class is designed to support the mom in nurturing her relationship with herself and her body.  

Class includes:

  • Time for mom to restore energy and discover how she can do that with baby right by her side.  
  • Basic meditation and yoga poses to support fuller, more natural breath, strength and flexibility. 
  • Baby massage to help the little ones get more grounded in their new bodies and to create a deeper mommy-baby connection
  • Yoga poses which include the babies in the yoga experience. *communion with other mom's and babies   
 

What to bring:   Bring a yoga mat if you have one and a blanket and boppy, for baby.

                             (Extra mats and blankets are available if needed.)

Prenatal Yoga

Yoga postures & sequences specifically for pregnancy

• Meditations, songs & chants to help mothers prepare for a positive birth experience

Infant Massage  For babies  2 weeks to 10 months ( pre-crawling)

Friday October 8th  11am-1pm

Fee: $40 per family handouts included as well as oil for the massage.

 

Class covers instruction in touch stimulation techniques for the whole of your baby's body. A time to relax and be playful, and gain support from other parents.

Benefits to baby:

    • Sleep better
    • Relieve gas and colic discomfort and promote healthy digestion
    • Encourage healthy muscles and joints development and function
    • Have lower levels of stress hormones and be able to calm more easily!
    • Have a special time of bonding for you and your baby. 
     

Fathers, partners and other caregivers are also encouraged to  come to this class

and are included in the fee (per family!).

Hands-On Prenatal Class for Guys!

Saturday, October 9th, 10:30 - Noon

Fee: $20

Most guys have never taken care of an infant before they have one of their own.  This is a hands-on class designed to help you get through the inevitable "it's your turn," and you really haven't got a clue.  After this class, things may still take a little longer, but you won't break your brand new baby! 

Hands on with dolls, swaddle blankets and diapers!!

We'll cover the essentials only:

    • Changing
    • Swaddling
    • Feeding
    • When to call the doctor.

The Mind in Labor - Working with Pain and Fear in Childbrith.

Sunday, November 7  11-4:30pm

$45  per couple

Often pain and anxiety are our greatest challenges in childbirth. Learning to use our mind to work with these challenges can make a huge difference in our labor and delivery experiences. These workshops will be a time to look deeply at pain and fear in childbirth and to cultivate present moment awareness for meeting whatever childbirth experience might unfold. The workshops are an excellent complement to any childbirth education class. Ideal for:

  • Those who anticipate a birth experience requiring special medical attention
  • Those who have had a previous difficult birth experience.
  • Those needing a refresher class 

Please bring bag lunch/snack. Water and tea provided

Infants and Sleep - Your pre-crawling baby is welcome!

Are you exhausted because your baby or toddler is up all night?
Are you co-sleeping with your baby and aren’t sure how to transition your baby to crib sleeping?
Do you have a newborn and want to start you and your baby off with good sleep habits/practice?

Please join us for a lecture to learn some great techniques to help your little one (and you!) sleep. We will discuss baby/toddler (0-24mos) sleep needs, and how best to help young ones learn good sleep habits.
• Importance of a baby/toddler schedule
• Challenges to baby/toddler sleep habits ex: developmental milestones
• New SIDS research and guidelines
• Pro’s and con’s of various sleep methods (Ferber, CIO, no-cry methods)
• Family bed, crib, toddler bed, room sharing
• Please bring questions related to crib/nursery sleeping, room sharing, co-sleeping/family bed, weaning, and how to find a balance between meeting baby/toddler’s sleep needs, and parent sleep needs.

Through couple-focused activities, we will cover topics such as:

This one-day class teaches developmental play from 0-12 months   

   

Parents will learn:  

• How playtime provides building blocks for bonding   

• How to help your baby nap better following playtime  

• Basics of language-based playtime 

• Specific toys that enhance early play and learning 

• Why play helps with developmental milestones  

• The importance of outdoor play 

• How babies communicate with us when they are playing  

• How playing and sleep time are related       

Please bring a blanket as we will be have play-based floor time with baby!

Your fee will be applied to another class, based on availabilty, minus $12 Admin. fee.

Less than 48 hours notice forfeits the class and no refund will apply.
